About this policy
At Tales Talent Management, we’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people we represent and those who work for us. It explains how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
We may change this policy from time to time. Please check this page for updates. This notice explains our privacy practices; visiting the website does not itself constitute consent to processing.
Any questions regarding this Policy and our privacy practices should be sent by email to sam@talestalentmanagement.com. Alternatively, telephone +44 (0) 7791 890934.
Who are we?
We’re Tales Talent Management Limited, trading as Tales Talent Management, a boutique talent agency specialising in representing actors and creatives. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15361766. Our registered office is 20 Malwood Road, Balham, London SW12 8EN.
How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you agree to our representing you, completing signing-on forms, over the telephone, via self-tapes, emails and other methods of communicating with us.
Website enquiries are made by email to sam@talestalentmanagement.com. This website does not provide an enquiry form. We use Gmail within our paid Google Workspace account to receive and manage email enquiries. When you email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message and any attachments you choose to send.
Separately from public website enquiries, new clients complete a joining questionnaire using Google Forms within our Google Workspace account.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, work history, payment history, Passport, National Insurance and Tax codes, photographs, Equity number, SAG number, Equity Pension details and other material used in the promotion of your career and work prospects.
How is your information used?
We may use your information to:
- Submit you for work opportunities
- Discussion and negotiation of salary and/or fees
- Discussion within the Tales Talent Management office, over the phone, via email with casting directors, directors and other creatives involved in the pursuit of employment opportunities
- To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
- Seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
- Notify you of changes to our services
- Process a grant or job application
Our lawful bases for using personal information
- Contract and steps you request before a contract: we use information where necessary to consider a request for representation, provide agreed representation services, submit clients for work and manage bookings and fees under our agreement.
- Legal obligation: we use and retain information where necessary to comply with applicable tax, accounting and other legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests: we use ordinary business contact information where necessary to respond to general casting or business enquiries, communicate with professional contacts, administer the agency and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Our interests are operating the agency, connecting clients with work opportunities and managing business correspondence and disputes. We may rely on this basis only where the use is necessary and proportionate and is not overridden by your interests, rights and freedoms, with particular care for children.
Information revealing trade union membership or health requires an additional legal condition. We seek explicit consent through a separate consent tick-box in our Google Forms joining questionnaire to use this information only to submit clients for work, secure correct rates and help keep them safe on set. Existing clients are being asked to confirm the same consent. Contract or legitimate interests alone is not sufficient for this sensitive information.
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing sam@talestalentmanagement.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. We will explain any effect on a particular service or submission. Consent must be specific, informed and freely given; agreeing to representation does not itself authorise every use of sensitive information.
How long we keep information
- Current clients: we keep client details for as long as we represent them.
- Former clients: we keep client records for six years after representation ends, to support tax, accounting and legal requirements, then delete them.
- Enquiries that do not lead to representation: we delete these after 12 months.
Who has access to your information?
We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.
Where information is stored
We use a paid Google Workspace account, including Gmail, Google Drive and Google Forms, together with Spotlight and office records, to manage client information. Our Google Workspace use is covered by Google’s data processing terms (opens in a new tab). Spotlight is a UK-based industry platform. We use WhatsApp for day-to-day messaging only and do not share sensitive client information through it. Public website enquiries are received by email, not through a website form.
We may pass your information to third-party service providers, agents, subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example telling a casting director about you to get you a job). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver our service.
Please be reassured that we will not release your information to non-work-related third parties for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.
Your choices
You have a choice about whether you wish us to represent you for work. If you do not want us to represent you, please let us know by phone or via email to sam@talestalentmanagement.com
How you can access and update your information
We manage your information using the services and office records described above. Please let us know what to update or remove where appropriate.
Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely.
Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations. This privacy policy applies only to our website‚ so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit. We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites even if you access them using links from our website.
In addition, if you linked to our website from a third-party site, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners and operators of that third-party site and recommend that you check the policy of that third party site.
Sharing information outside the UK
When submitting an actor to a casting director or producer outside the UK, we share only the actor’s name, headshot and Spotlight or IMDb profile link. If the actor is booked, we share any further information only with the client’s approval.
Client approval is part of our booking process; it does not replace applicable international-transfer requirements. When a transfer is restricted by UK data protection law, it requires a valid transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations, appropriate safeguards or an applicable legal exception. The appropriate mechanism depends on the destination, recipient and circumstances. Contact Sam for information about the arrangements relevant to your information and how to obtain details of applicable safeguards.
The Google, WhatsApp and Spotlight services used by Tales may involve processing outside the UK. Their published information explains their own processing and transfer arrangements: Google’s transfer frameworks (opens in a new tab), WhatsApp’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and Spotlight’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Those provider notices do not replace this notice or Tales’ responsibilities for information it shares.
Review of this Policy
We keep this policy under regular review. This policy was last updated on 22 October 2026.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation by contacting Sam. We will consider your objection and stop that processing unless we can demonstrate an overriding lawful reason to continue or the information is needed for legal claims.
Making a request
To exercise your rights, email sam@talestalentmanagement.com or contact us by phone. Requests are normally free of charge. We respond without undue delay and normally within one calendar month, subject to any extensions or exceptions permitted by data protection law. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity.
Sam Kermer is the sole person running the agency, so there is no alternative internal complaints contact. You can raise data protection concerns with Sam using the contact details above. If a concern involves Sam, or you prefer to complain externally, you can contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office on 0303 123 1113 or use its website: Make a complaint to the ICO (opens in a new tab).
