Peter McSweeney

Peter McSweeney is a UK/EU-based screenwriter and the writer and creator of Vacca, a major historical drama about the life of Dr. Edward Jenner, the pioneer of the smallpox vaccine. The project has secured partnerships with the World Health Organization and other leading international partners.

Peter has two further projects in development, including the feature film Chess Mates, set to shoot in 2027.

He began his writing career as a playwright, developing his craft through the Royal Court Theatre's Young Writers Programme while training at East 15 and Arts Ed. That grounding in theatre still shapes his screenwriting, and he brings a storyteller's sensibility to every project, whether historical epic or original drama.
